Former General Hospital darling Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily Bowen Quartermaine) has come forward with her own horrific story of abuse and sexual assault in response to the leaking of Donald Trump’s misogynistic remarks on Friday.

Several women were brave enough to confront the issue head on, sharing their intimate stories on social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Tamblyn courageously took to Instagram and posted a lengthy cautionary tale about a past abusive relationship. She wrote, in part:

Without going into all the of the details, I will tell you that my ex did show up, and came up to me in the crowd. He’s a big guy, taller than me. The minute he saw me, he picked me up with one hand by my hair and with his other hand, he grabbed me under my skirt by my vagina— my p—-?— and lifted me up off the floor, literally, and carried me, like something he owned, like a piece of trash, out of the club. His fingers were practically inside of me, his other hand wrapped tightly around my hair. I screamed and kicked and cried.”

We thank Tamblyn for coming forward with her story. Hearing that even those in the spotlight have had to deal with barbaric Neanderthals can help us all to heal. It is awful that such a strong, intelligent, and beautiful person was treated in this manner. Daytime ladies are certainly showing their strength to the world this week.

Currently, Tamblyn is happily married to comedian David Cross, of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt fame. She is also the daughter of actor Russ Tamblyn, best known as Riff from West Side Story. After leaving GH, she appeared in the movie The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and the TV shows Joan of Arcadia and Two and a Half Men (in the final season).
